I am currently working with my friends at Friday Arts, helping them with their Sanity CMS website while they grow organically. I also actively provide ongoing development services to Spliteye Multimedia, all the while developing a Mycology crop management component to further my interests in cultivating gourmet mushrooms.
Previously, I was one of two developers at the Guggenheim museum New York. While I focused primarily on the flagship website, my role included beng the Google Analytics subject matter expert, as well as the driving force behind the formation of a digital accessability initiative. Other notable areas of my work included extensive customization of the headless WordPress installation, utilizing a decoupled Vue.js frontend, as well as chief architect of the bespoke events and messaging systems.
Prior to that, I was employed by Sears Holdings Corporation as a Software Engineer III, focused on maintaining and further developing the store associate dashboard, as well as the lead developer of an employee time clock solution, with remote management approval capabilities, utilizing the first instance of Node.js microservices used by the organization. Other interesting technologies used included Elastic Search and connection pools for Redis.
Before that, I provided consulting services to a number or clients, including the Guggenheim museum, helping them add new features and bug fixes for a highly customized instance of v1.5 of the Joomla CMS. One notable project was the development of the UBS Map Global Art initiative portal, which included integration with their internal Collection API as well as the seamless importing and display of content curated by an external WordPress website.
I began working with the Joomla!® content management system in 2006. Since then, I was a team leader in the the Joomla Bug Squad, presenter at numerous Joomla events, and completed a term as a member of the Joomla Production Leadership Team. I'm also the creator of the now retired Construct Template Development Framework, Joomla Ajax Interface, now a core Joomla component, and numerous smaller extensions and tools for Joomla and general web development.
I founded betweenbrain™ in 2001 to aid my former colleagues and businesses of all sizes in need of unique problem solving and technology services. In that capacity, I provided services from software customization, systems integration, website and web-based technology development and deployment. My core focus was to provide value-added services and web solutions that empower you to be control.
